You might also notice some scabbing in the donor and recipient areas, but don’t worry—this is a normal part of the healing process.
You’ll be advised to avoid strenuous activities or anything that could cause excessive sweating for about a week after the procedure. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine within 3-7 days, though you may need to wear a protective cap for a little extra peace of mind.
Hair shedding is normal during the first few weeks, but don’t be discouraged—it’s part of the natural growth cycle. New hair should start growing within 3 to 6 months, and full results can take up to a year to fully show.
Pain Management
In our FUT hair transplant, Dr. Kassir may prescribe pain management medication along with our hair transplant post-op kit. While the scar heals, there may be mild discomfort until the stitches are removed.
Our FUE hair transplant does not have scarring or stitches, but the injury response to the small insertion wounds may have some scabbing that heals in 3-7 days.
